Course Overview

This unique advanced program is designed for participants wishing to gain Emergency Care qualifications equipping them with advanced skills and knowledge. The course is especially suited for first responders, mine rescue, firefighters, road rescue, and security personnel. The CPR component of this qualification is required to be renewed every 12 months. This program also includes thorough training and assessment relating to the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

Duration: 3 Days (8:00am - 5:00pm)

Mode of Delivery: Face to face or modules tailored to your workplace

Reasonable Adjustment: FRA supports learners with recognised disabilities and makes adjustments, where possible, according to each individuals need. The level of adjustment required is determined on a case by case basis between FRA and the learner with a disability. FRA ensures any reasonable adjustment does not compromise the integrity of the competency standards.

  • Moving and Lifting Patients

  • Basic Triage

  • Primary and Secondary Casualty Assessment

  • Collecting a SAMPLE history

  • Pain Assessment (OPQRST)

  • Monitoring the casualty in the Isolated Area - Baseline Vitals

  • Administration of drugs and medication under medical direction

  • Orientation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service Medical Chest (if applicable)

  • Communication with Emergencies Services

  • Patient care report (PCR)

  • Assist an evacuation in a remote area

  • Scenario Based Assessments


Certification

Upon successful completion of the program your electronic Statement of Attainment will be emailed to you within 48 hours.

Requirements

Entry Requirements: Nil.

USI: A USI (Unique Student Identifier) number is required for all accredited training in Australia. If you do not provide a USI number we may not be able to issue a Certificate/Statement of Attainment upon successful completion of training.

Physical Requirements: A level of fitness and stamina is required to complete the CPR practical assessment by spending extended periods of time on your knees at floor level.

Dress Code: Please wear closed in shoes and comfortable clothing to enable you to kneel down on the floor for extended periods of time.
